Industrial Telemetry

Remote monitoring, data analysis, and predictive maintenance. Telemetry isn't just sending data to the cloud — it's designing systems that capture what matters, process locally when needed, and present technical, actionable information.

What industrial telemetry is for

Telemetry enables:

  • Continuous remote monitoring of geographically distributed equipment
  • Early detection of anomalies before they become critical failures
  • Predictive maintenance based on actual condition, not just schedules
  • Reduction of operational costs through more assertive interventions
  • Historical data analysis for process optimization
  • Traceability and compliance with continuous and auditable records

When telemetry makes sense

Telemetry is particularly useful when:

Remote equipment

Machines in hard-to-access locations or geographically distributed. Supervision without constant physical presence.

Predictive maintenance

Critical equipment whose failures cause costly downtime. Detection of wear trends.

Safety and compliance

Monitoring of safety variables. Continuous recording for audits and traceability.

Process optimization

Analysis of operational patterns. Performance comparison between units or shifts.

Note: If you have just one or two pieces of equipment in the same location where there's already local supervision, a traditional SCADA might be more straightforward.

How a telemetry system works

A complete system involves four main layers:

Telemetry

1. Field layer

Analog and digital sensors, PLCs, controllers and meters with native communication.

2. Edge Gateway

Device installed near equipment. Communicates via industrial protocols, processes locally and maintains buffer to ensure integrity.

3. Central server

Cloud or on-premises infrastructure. Receives data from multiple gateways, stores history, processes alarms and exposes API.

4. Web interface

Responsive dashboard with real-time visualization, trend charts, alarm system and data export.

Typical features

Real-time monitoring

  • Instant equipment status
  • Online/offline/alarm indicators
  • Automatic updates via WebSockets
  • Last communication timestamp

Alarm system

  • Detection of anomalous conditions
  • Classification by severity
  • Notifications via email/SMS/WhatsApp
  • History and traceability

Historical analysis

  • Trend charts
  • Period comparison
  • Statistical calculations
  • Data export (CSV, Excel, PDF)

Communication protocols

Experience with a wide range of industrial protocols:

Serial protocols

  • Modbus RTU
  • DNP3
  • IEC 60870-5-101

TCP/IP protocols

  • Modbus TCP
  • DNP3 over TCP
  • IEC 61850 (MMS)
  • OPC UA
  • SNMP

IoT protocols

  • MQTT (main choice)
  • HTTP/REST
  • WebSocket

Application cases

Real implementation examples (without mentioning specific clients)

Distributed electrical equipment

Electrical panels and power equipment spread geographically. Edge gateway with Modbus RTU/TCP, transmission via MQTT over GPRS/4G, dashboard with voltage, current, power and temperature.

Results:

  • Early detection of overload and imbalance
  • 70% reduction in failure response time
  • Database for energy efficiency studies

Large industrial machines

Manufacturer offering telemetry as competitive differentiator. Integrated gateway monitoring PLC via passive Modbus sniffer, multi-tenant interface, ARIMA filter for efficient transmission.

Results:

  • Remote technical support without travel
  • Predictive maintenance based on actual cycles
  • New business model: machines as a service

Fleets and mobile equipment

Monitoring critical systems on vehicles. Embedded IoT devices with 4G/LTE communication, UWB proximity system for collision detection, dashboard with safety analysis.

Results:

  • Significant reduction in accidents
  • Maintenance optimization with real data
  • Compliance with safety standards

Advanced home automation

System with remote access and monitoring. Local controllers via proprietary protocol, gateway with VPN, PWA with offline functionality, WebSockets for real-time.

Results:

  • Complete remote control
  • Interface installable as native app
  • Reliable operation without internet

Technical differentiators

End-to-end integration

We develop everything: edge hardware, firmware, backend, web interface. No dependence on multiple vendors.

Adaptation to legacy protocols

Passive sniffers that don't interfere with critical communications. Custom protocol converters. Respect for existing installations.

Intelligent edge processing

Gateways aren't simple "bridges": local filtering, critical alarm detection, autonomous operation during connection failures.

Scalable architecture

Backend prepared for growth: from pilot installations to thousands of devices with complete isolation between clients.

Industrial security

Encryption in transit and at rest, strong authentication, VPN for field access, audit logs, compliance with industrial standards and GDPR.

Technical interface

Dashboards for engineers: dense but organized information, real technical charts, quick access to history and facilitated export.

Try the Telemetry Platform

We developed an interactive demonstration platform where you can explore all the features of a complete industrial telemetry system. Test real-time dashboards, view analytical charts, manage alarms, and see how telemetry transforms data into decisions.

Real-Time Dashboard

Automatically updated KPIs, interactive charts, and consolidated executive view of the entire operation.

Data Analysis

Descriptive statistics, intelligent anomaly detection, and correlation analysis between variables.

Alarm Management

Complete notification system with prioritization, alarm acknowledgment, and detailed history.

Equipment Monitoring

Online/offline status, real-time monitoring of analog and digital variables with complete history.

Note: Simulated data for demonstration purposes. The real platform is customizable and adaptable to your specific needs.
